This post should probably have appeared yesterday for True Confessions, but the reason it didn't will be explained shortly.
I have an Evil Day Job (EDJ). Many writers do, since writing doesn't often pay enough to live on. And it sucks because it gets in the way of writing. The last couple of weeks at the EDJ have been brutally busy, with a huge project due yesterday. It's been consuming a great deal of my time, and so I've slacked off on the blogging.
*hangs head in shame*
I'm a bad girl. I know I can schedule posts ahead of time and everything, but I kept getting bogged down in EDJ work. I've managed to put a couple things up. Last week I had several guests including Cheryl Dragon, Simone Sinna, and Marie Jermy. And I've got a post up for the Hearts On Fire Blog Hop (which ends tomorrow - don't forget to enter!) in the meantime. Plus I'll be making several guest appearances, last week at Literary Lagniappe, and this week at Lori King, Paloma Beck, and Four Seduced Muses.
Not to mention I'm super excited about the release of my second book, The Art of Love tomorrow!! (pardon the shameless self-promotion)
But I just haven't been able to do anything else really clever. I'm sorry! I know I'm bad. But don't worry - I've already had my spanking!

True Confessions with Simone Sinna
I'm pleased to welcome Simone Sinna back to my blog! She was my very first guest on Sinful Sunday. Now she's back to share some thoughts about keeping your relationships strong. Enjoy!
True Confessions by Simone Sinna
THE GHOSTS’ RETURN
True Confessions by Simone Sinna
I’m staring at this title somewhat panic
stricken. Part of me (the naughty side) is thinking about how I always wanted
to do a strip and when I finally did, or some of the research needed to write
about a ménage …but this week I read an article about how easy it is to find
anything about anyone on the internet and I while I have separated erotic
romance author from my other life both parts of me are married to the same man.
Now he’s getting famous I keep turning up as his wife – in both names! He could
be had up as a bigamist I suppose but I rather think it will just be my cover
gets blown. Not that anyone is probably all that interested, and my children
and mother run from the mere thought of anything erotic I might churn out.
My mother: “oh my god why would you want
to write that sort of thing?”
My daughter: “Oh my god it’s alright for
other people to write that but you’re my mother!”
My son: silence with bemused looks at
the posters I have on my office wall of the book covers featuring topless men.
He hastens any female friends past the room very quickly…
My husband…too busy appearing at ladies
luncheons and book clubs…mmm.
So getting back to true confessions.
Maybe part of a one anyway.
I wrote the Stephanie Beauman series as
a straight MF but many of the readers even though giving positive reviews
thought she was a tad promiscuous. I guess given the time frame this was true,
but I was doing research for a nonfiction book in this area, and Stephanie
given she gets married and HEA in Exclusive (and would have then of course been
faithful!) probably ended up about average over the course of three books.
The reality is however, that affairs are
very common. Marriages break up all the time and under 50 at least this usually
involves “someone” else. I am on my second marriage, a very happy 23 years, but
the shorter first marriage was considerably less happy. My true confession then
is about one of the many lessons I learnt from this, as well as from as a
therapist.
1. Keep
communication alive.
2. If
you’re thinking of having an affair- you will!
3. You
rarely really know why you are doing things when in the midst- it’s self
justification.
4. The
most astonishing one for me, as I have always thought honesty is the best
policy- well maybe not. In the words of William Blake: “A truth told with bad
intent is worse than any lie I could invent.” It probably isn’t told with bad
intent, just selfish intent which ends up being the same.
5. If
you do err but don’t want to end your relationship and hurt someone you love,
maybe your price is to live with the guilt. You can either lie (Bettina Ardnt recommends
this in her book the Sex Diaries) and sort yourself out, probably in therapy –
or tell the truth, and leave your marriage there and then. It might be the
worst of both options, to tell the truth and stay. Or at least if your partner
is not the type to forgive. Men murder women over this sort of thing!
As I hate lying, and
can’t keep a secret guess my husband is stuck with me! But that’s where the
wonderful world of fantasy comes into play…now back to the next MFM BDSM book
I’ve started writing…
THE GHOSTS’ RETURN
By Simone Sinna

Lena Magnussen is
unhappily lost in a romance novel on a charter boat when fate intervenes in the
form of two hot men, Lincoln and Kael Tremain. Only problem is she is a ghost
vampire and they are the enemy, were-devils.
The men know who she
is and presume she senses them, but the curse, after two generations, is about
to turn against the ghosts. They find they are racing against time, battling
age-old hatreds between the groups, and trying to make sense of Lena’s
illness—the old curse or the Hendra virus Lincoln is working on, which could be
the one his father caused to mutate in order to exact revenge.
In a gripping climax,
the ghosts return to Tasmania to rescue Lena and her cousin Gabriella from the
were-devils they love, and in doing so threaten to finally wipe out the
remaining were-devils and their home Tarrabah.

Really Random Wednesdays: Dead Fish Don't Float
Well I'm over at Simone Sinna's blog as well today, but to keep my blog from feeling left out, I figured I should do something here, too.
My new book, Landing the Big Ones, is about a mom who gets some fish for her son, and in the process lands herself a couple of fine fellows. The book is based loosely around the trouble my family had setting up an aquarium this summer. We inherited the tank and then still spent over $100 to get everything we needed to set it up. We had to wait a week to buy fish, so we did, and then came home with 3 little guys.
That night, one of the fish gave birth and died. So we took the dead fish (which was not floating) back to the store and got a new fish. That night, another of the first fish died, but we were up and about, so we noticed it right away, therefore it did not have time to float. Back to the store we went, only this time we didn't bother bringing a new one home, thinking it would be better to wait and see.
Two days later, the third of the original fish was dead. Not floating. Now we're down to one fish. We treat the tank for fungus and parasites, then buy two more fish.
Fish four dies the next day and sinks to the bottom.
Now by this point, I'm getting a little hysterical over the damn things. It's not so much that I was attached to them, but more the whole inability to keep them alive. Very frustrating. But the remaining two fish survive a week and I figure we're okay. So we get two more.
Next day, one of the surviving fish looks like it's not feeling so well. It's swimming upside down (no, not floating - it was actually swimming). Desperate to keep this one from dying, I go to the pet store to explain the problem and the guy looks at me and says, "Ma'am, I think you just need to let the guppy go."
Sure enough, the guppy went. Without floating. After that, the tank seemed to settle down. We had three fish and though the kidlets begged to add more, I steadfastly refused, thinking that three was our lucky number.
Those three fish managed to do fairly well until recently. One of them was a pleco. You know, one of those sucker fish that sticks to the glass. They're nocturnal and very good at hiding, so we rarely saw him and the joke got to be that he ran away.
Shortly before Christmas, hubby tells me he hasn't seen Al (the pleco) in a while and I insist he's just hiding. But I start to check more often and I can't find him. The tank is not that big and we are around it at some point every day. You would think we'd have noticed a dead fish right? Hold that thought.
Over the holidays, my son noticed that one of the other two fish was behaving oddly and it reminded us of the guppy that died. We didn't know what to do about it. The next day, the odd fish had disappeared.
I mean, totally disappeared. I didn't think fish could decompose that quickly, but we couldn't see it anywhere.
We are now down to one fish.
So I'm standing in the kitchen doing the dishes one day last week, and I glance at the tank to see Red (the sole survivor) attacking a white object. Puzzled, I approach the tank for a better look.
It was a fish skeleton.
Apparently, Red is a cannibal. I'm guessing that he and Speckles (the other one) had eaten Al when Al died. And when Speckles kicked the bucket, Red said, "Excellent! A feast and the tank to myself!"
Through all of these wonderful fish adventures, not once did we see a floating fish.

True Confessions: My Cheating Ways
I have a confession. Which makes sense considering this feature is called True Confessions. But enough about that. I really need to get this off my chest.
I am being unfaithful to my blog. We've only been together for a short time, but I just find other blogs incredibly sexy and appealing. It's so hard to resist! Their slick graphics, sensuous URLs, and incredibly HOT erotic scenes. What's a girl to do?
I'd like to offer my apologies to my blog, but I'm just not a one-blog girl. I do write menage, so maybe I'm just getting too carried away. On the other hand, when you add more partners, you add a lot of fun. Perhaps I can convince my blog to share. I really don't want to be tied down. I'm hoping that with communication, we can get through this.
The sordid evidence of my infidelity can be found all over. It all began on Dec. 21 when I did a harmless enough essay about my kitty for Tymber Dalton on Tales From the Snark Side. I figured it would just be one time.
Sadly, one was not enough. On Dec. 24, I visited Four Seduced Muses to relate my naughty Christmas Eve poem.
My New Year's Resolution was to stop that nonsense and devote all my attention to my own blog. But again, temptation proved to be too powerful. I'm sad to say that last week, I went to 3 different blogs! Jan. 8 I went to Taking Romance to the Edge by Sage Marlowe. On Jan. 9, Paloma Beck's Romance Beckons, called me away. On Jan. 11, I showed up at Lori King Books.
I can't stop myself and it's getting out of control. Today, I'm going to be Center Stage with Honor James. Tomorrow, I'm appearing on Simone Sinna's blog for Wicked Wednesday.
And that's not the end of it! There are more to come. I just can't stop myself.

Sinful Sunday with Simone Sinna
Today I'm kicking off another feature for my blog: Sinful Sundays. Here, you can find out about books and authors which feature wicked, sinful acts. You know, the ones we all enjoy so much!
It seems very appropriate to have as my first guest, erotic romance author Simone Sinna (LOVE that name!) who will tell us about her latest book from Siren Publishing. I'm sure you'll agree it's devilishly bad!

Something Sinful
By Simone Sinna
“By the pricking of my thumb, something sinful this way comes…” A slight
alteration to Shakespeare but all in the cause of writing erotica, I’m sure he
wouldn’t mind…
So what’s deliciously sinful about my
new series Were-Devils of Tasmania and in particular the most recent, second in
the series that was out this week, Were-Devils’ Revenge?
One Sin(or actually two…): Two
men, totally and absolutely all mine (well, Gabriella’s) for a whole story (and
for ever after, as this as a HEA ending). It’s so much fun waiting for the book
covers to arrive and imagining how they will look and how close it will be to
what I visualized. Usually not at all! But I did describe these two as really working out−they are personal
trainers/ gym teachers and swim, sail, dive etc after all−and the guy on the
left on the cover comes close to my picture of Mac…
“They
covered her body with hot kisses, mouths over her nipples, tongues in her
ears.” Yes please!
Second or is that Third Sin?
There is a second story running through the background set pre-war where we
find out where the ghost vampire- were-devil split happened. And in this I
(oops, I mean Larissa) gets to have another were-devil…
Were-Devils’
Revenge Book Blurb
A
curse from a doomed love torn apart by war and bigotry looks set to rebound, as
Mac and Mitch Mortimer, two were-devils, are intent on exacting revenge for
their dying sister against an ancient order of ghost vampires who infected her.
On
ghost territory in tropical Queensland, they come up against more than they
bargain for—close encounters with the ghosts, a gathering of the ghost clan,
and a matriarch with attitude, to say nothing of the feisty Gabriella Vitali,
who they have both fallen for before they realize she’s one of the enemy.
Gabriella
in turn finds herself torn between loyalty to her family and her love for two
men from the enemy clan who are threatening to kill those she loves. As
prophesized, they are each faced with a choice that will either help end the
curse or ensure it reverberates through generations to come. Will revenge or
love triumph?
