Meet the Author/Interview With a Character Blog Hop

Hello everybody and welcome to Michelle Graham's post for the Meet The Author/Interview With A Character Blog Hop.

I am not Michelle Graham.

My name is Seamus O'Connell, but you can call me Shay, and being the good Dom that I am, I've insisted that Michelle allow me to take over (with assistance from her husband who has promised to make it worth her while). A few weeks back, she interviewed my husband, Remy, on After Dark Writers, but I thought it was her turn to be in the hot seat.

Shay:  Michelle, we're all capable of reading the bio in the sidebar, but I think your readers would be interested in the things that aren't there. Wouldn't you agree?

Michelle: Yes, Sir.

S:  Already such a good little sub! Why don't we start there? You're relatively new to the BDSM world, aren't you?

M: Yes, Sir. I'll confess that I read Fifty Shades of Grey and the whole idea intrigued me. I started to look for more erotic romance and discovered authors like Cherise Sinclair, whose work I enjoyed a lot more! Discovering Siren books was what got me started writing in the first place.

S: And how long ago was that?

M: Just over a year, Sir.

S: Your first book wasn't part of the BDSM collection from Siren though, was it?

M: No, Sir. Landing the Big Ones was my first book, and I wanted to focus on actually getting an entire book written, especially because I didn't know much about BDSM aside from what I'd read in books. But my curiosity was piqued and I suggested to Hubby that we could try some of it. And we have. It's good.

S: I should tell you readers, that Michelle's face is fifty shades of red right now. Seems it's okay for her to tell you about my sex life in great detail, but now that the shoe's on the other foot she's a bit shy. I noticed Michelle that you're calling him Hubby still, not Sir or Master.

M: That's right, Sir. At this point we're still exploring the dynamics and taking things slow. I enjoy submitting in the bedroom, but because we've been together for so long already, it's hard for me to think of him that way. Maybe as time goes on, it will come more naturally.

S:  What's your biggest challenge as an author writing about BDSM?

M:  Well, Sir, I think it's that my own experience is so limited. I know that there are many experiences that I don't have, so that can be difficult. But I'm using my imagination and doing my research and that's helping. Kind of like writing about sex from a guy's perspective. I don't have the parts, so I have to bug Hubby to tell me and he's not so great with description. OW!

S:  Hubby just let Michelle know he'd like more appreciation for the help he gives her. And she's promised it, but I'll spare you the details. Back to the interview then. Tell us about your latest WIP, Michelle.

M:  Yes, Sir. You know, because it's your story, but for the readers, this is the story of Shay and his husband Remy and what happens when they start to get friendly with their daughter's dance teacher. I'm getting close to finishing, but these guys are really horny and they keep having sex when I'm trying to write other things. Once it's done and sent to Siren, I'll keep the readers posted.

S:  And what's the title of this new book?

M:  It's called The Dom, The Dad, and The Dancer, Sir.

S:  Intriguing. I'm very interested to see the finished product. Our time is running short, Michelle, so tell the readers about the prizes for this blog hop.

M: Yes, Sir. On my blog, I'm offering an e-book copy of The Art of Love, my first book with BDSM, and also the first book which references you and Remy, though you're not mentioned by name. But there's also a Grand Prize draw for a $50 Amazon gift card. Readers have to leave a comment about my post, or your post I guess, in order to be entered. And don't forget a valid email address so we can contact you if you win! Oh, and the codeword for the rafflecopter draw is: Hedon Falls. Make sure you visit all the other authors on the hop to find their codewords for more chances to win! (If the linky list doesn't appear below, visit www.KaseyDean.com - oh and a big thanks to Kasey for organizing!)

S:  Michelle, thank you for letting me help the readers get to know you a little better. Good luck in your future endeavours!

M:  You're welcome, Sir!

  9. Thanks for the great interview. Very nice to change it up a bit. I know what you mean about switching the dynamics. It has taken my Husband and me awhile to get there. I am getting better. I use both Sir and Husband.

    1. When you've interacted with someone in a particular way for so long, it's difficult to change the mindset, for both of us. I don't think he'd be comfortable with me calling him Sir at this point. Maybe in the future. Thanks for stopping by!

  10. Michelle, I bet you could find a dom online or go to a BDSM club to learn more. Sounds like you're doing fine as it is now!

    1. We've been thinking about doing exactly that. Someone who could help Hubby learn about this whole thing. Or maybe even to play with ;)
